Vocation Meditation - Feb. 24
Third Sunday of Lent

Jesus came to a Samaritan city called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired out by his journey, was sitting by the well. It was about noon. A Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her,
"Give me a drink."

The woman needed to draw water. Usually in her village, no one draws water at noon time. She is safe. In Jesus' eyes her life needs a fixing. Husbands had left her vulnerable and hiding from people's judging eyes. Yet, Jesus was there at the well even at the noon time of her need waiting. She looked for ordinary water to quench her thirst. Jesus instead, was interested in drawing her out from the well of her misery. She confessed and dialogue with Jesus flowed from His heart to her heart open now to grace

Vocation challenge:
Fill your bucket with the water only Jesus can give!
Am I willing to empty my old bucket and be filled with Jesus' living water?
