Mission

United by a common story and charism we, Sisters of St. Joseph of Canada, form a Federation to empower one another in the passionate living of our charism of active and inclusive love. Urged by God’s spirit, we collaborate with Sisters of St. Joseph globally and respond to the evolving reality of our world, bringing healing and hope to all creation.

Spirituality

Our spirituality, then, is a spirituality of relationships:

• our relationship with God
• our relationship with one another and with all people
• our relationship with all of God’s creation

Active and inclusive love animates all of these relationships. Our founder, Jean-Pierre Medaille, challenged us to be known as The Congregation of Great Love.

Explanation

Each Sister of St. Joseph has responded to a call to dedicate her life in a special way to Christ and his kingdom of love in our world. She has done this along with others who live a similar spirituality and a similar depth of desire: the shared goal to bring about the unity expressed in Jesus’ prayer at the Last Supper: That all may be one.
