Mission

The mission of the Conventual Franciscan Friars includes the promotion of the ideals of St. Francis of Assisi, the promotion of the joy of the Gospel, fraternity, and the Christian way of living and growing in a world community.

Explanation

The rule and life of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual is to observe the Gospel of Jesus Christ, by gentle persuasion encourage people to get to know Jesus and to follow the Gospel according to their walk of life.

This quote, attributed to St. Francis of Assisi, asks us to be of service to others without preaching. Our Minister General wrote to inform us that Pope Francis challenges us friars and all the baptized to have the courage to go to the edges to invite all to experience the embrace of the Father and the Gospel news that God loves us. The Pope is full of enthusiasm for the new evangelization and urges us to serve the poorest and the most needy. The primary apostolate of the Friars is to live the Gospel life among people in charity and poverty, in simplicity and service. This speaks to our identity as Conventual Franciscan Friars.
